It’s the most wonderful time of the year…Christmas! The most-awaited adverts of the year have finally arrived where the UK’s biggest retailers battle to see who can come up with the best Christmas TV ad. It’s a title John Lewis has held for many years. Although it’s increasingly seeing some stiff competition from major retailers such as Tesco, Sainsbury’s, M&S, Aldi, Argos and Debenhams as well as Lidl.
Let’s take a look at the festive commercials that have launched ahead of the big day.
Argos
Flaunting its commitment to speedy delivery and its Fast Track delivery service Argos’ team of elves can be seen scrambling to get toys out to children in time for Christmas.

Sainsbury’s
Celebrating the many ways that Brits spend the festive season Sainsbury’s have opted with a (really) catchy karaoke style song. A song guaranteed to get stuck in your head.
M&S
Paddington Bear is the star of this year’s ad. The bear spots a burglar dressed in red who he mistakes for Father Christmas and offers to help him deliver his presents. Paddington unknowingly saves Christmas due to him helping the thief eventually see the error of his ways.

Asda’s ad follows a young girl and her grandfather who are walking down an alleyway. It will have looked familiar to viewers in Manchester. Victoria Baths was used as the backdrop to Asda’s Christmas campaign. The Baths were was transformed into a magical Christmas themed food factory.
